A closer look at the Rules for the Disposition of Violations by Members of the Sichuan Provincial Bar Association
The maximum of $40,000 “fine” (named “penalty”) is a fee for the investigation of cases under article 56.
Article 64, paragraph 4, further provides that a member applying for review shall, in addition to the cost of the original inspection, pay an additional advance fee to the Review Committee for the review phase, in accordance with the same criteria.
Thus, if a request is made for review, the maximum amount of a member found to be in violation is 80,000 “fine”!
I must say, Sichuan is too black for Sichuan's lawyer!
While deeply concerned by his colleagues, I decided to file a complaint with the Sichuan Provincial Bar Association at the Sichuan Provincial Judicial Department.
Attention is drawn to the tweets "Avocat Zhang Mo-young: Asking the Sichuan Provincial Judicial Department to Oversee the Sichuan Provincial Bar Association (forcing the defaulting members to pay a maximum of 80,000 “fine”), and to Sichuan's lawyer to forward support.
