Late October, a 27-second video passed through the X platform account."Shen Kai's family

  • ThunderThe blog is a video of the event. The post alleges that a Falun Gong practitioner in Yunnan was detained and beaten and that his whereabouts were unknown. In the lens, a man leans down near the bed; The image did not reveal a identifiable name and location. This short film brings to mind once again the reality that in China, religious believers may be taken away by the police, and that relatives are unable to guarantee their personal liberty and safety.

For a person forcibly taken, the greatest danger often occurs outside the lens. The security forces have custody, interrogation and medical records, but families may not know where their relatives are. The concentration of police in Kunming in April, Yang Jinhui's death at Red River County Prison and the violence charges filed by Liaoning Goldwood brought this power gap to the specific family.

These cases occurred in different places and not in the same operation. Together, they point to the continued political control of Falun Gong practitioners by the Communist Party: from the inclusion of surveillance lists, to the search of the door to the deprivation of personal liberty, the question of belief has been transformed into a reason for repeated involvement by the public security services in private life. For one person, political persecution was never an abstract system, but rather a police knock, the elderly were taken away, and family members were not informed.

Three days of operation in Kunming: plainclothes policemen entered the house, and the elderly and relatives were implicated

The investigation report of Ming Hui on August 16th.The Kunming City Public Security System was shown to have launched a concentrated operation against Falun Gong practitioners from 15 to 17 April this year. It reported that at the beginning of the year, the regional PPI teams and police stations had conducted mapping, tracking, crouching and inspection monitoring, and that hundreds of trainees had subsequently been harassed, searched, summoned or arrested within three days. This does not mean that hundreds of people are all detained. Ming Hui lists the names, ages, participating units and outcomes of more than 20 persons affected to varying degrees.

On April 15th, at noon, he was followed by plainclothes personnel to Yuan Deok-chun's residence. Reports indicate that the Takulong District Political Guard and the Shinkai police station officers subsequently entered the scene and brought to the police station personnel who were studying Falun Gong materials together, and Gao Wing was sent to the prison. An ordinary study gathering has been the subject of prior monitoring and collective control by the public security.

The wife of the 70-year-old retired senior engineer, Zhao Jianhua, was also involved. On 16 April, security agents of the Zhub district entered their house and searched them, and the two were taken away. (a) Ming Hui Network has documented that his wife, who does not practise Falun Gong, was detained for 34 days until 20 May; Zhao Jianhua was detained under abnormal blood pressure and was taken to medical care. The public security forces put pressure on a group of believers and eventually even their families.

The list also includes the 82-year-old retired guardian Li Yan Yun. The records state that she was pursued for having given Falun Gong material to her and was taken to Yunnan Province ' s Second Women ' s Prison. The eight-year-old, seven-year-old couples and the people who study together in the other ' s home are ordinary people with family and sick. Their lives are subject to interference by the State ' s coercive forces because they are labelled as a certain faith.

5 SeptemberTracing International ' s 5 September accountability circularThe accountability information issued for the April operations of Kunming was that the municipal public security system was unified and that the departments and responsibilities related to the operations in the districts were listed. The circular is an investigative claim of human rights organizations and is not a criminal finding by a Chinese court of law against the individual concerned; It provides a specific chain of command that can be continuously checked: the Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Divisional Political Security Brigade, the Police Station and the officials involved in the vetting process.

Yang Jinhui died in a detention facility: a return train leads to a death notice

Another Falun Gong practitioner in Yunnan Red River State was unable to return from his detention facility before and after Kunming ' s arrest. Yang Jinhui, 65 years old, old cityman. The case of Ming Hui on July 27th.She was allegedly taken away by the far-off railway police and held in Red River State detention centre after travelling with her family on a high-truck trip in early April; On 3 May, the family was informed that she was dead. The explanation given by the detention centre was “heart infarction, rescue is ineffective”.

Families have requested access to surveillance. According to public case records, they saw footage of Yang Jinhui who fell in the air while washing his laundry, without being able to see the full story of the anomaly, medical intervention and rescue. The family subsequently requested an autopsy. When a person is placed in a detention facility, he or she does not have the ability to freely seek medical treatment and leave the facility, and the responsibility for his or her life is directly vested in the detention facility. A “heart infarction” to sum up death cannot replace the account given for the care and rescue process during detention.

The incident did not begin with the return train in

  1. (a) Ming Hui reported that she had been sentenced to three years ' imprisonment for her beliefs in December 2012 and that she had lost her job and pension benefits after being released from prison; He was detained again in 2002, and continued to complain under threat. The long-term surveillance and punishment of a person extends to the last time in her life.

Yang Jinhui was taken from the train back to the railway police and her family was informed that she died in Red River County detention centre for more than 20 days. The family was not waiting for an explanation of the work, but for the complete facts of the last moment of the relative. (b) Prison records of escorts, duty, surveillance and medical treatment; The family must rely on information provided by the custodial authorities to restore the death. The simultaneous control of personal freedom and information is one of the cruelest realities of the system.

Liaoning Goldwood case: Police took people to their house next to the police station

Outside Yunnan, another indictment by Liao Ning Shenyang illustrates the specific pattern of law enforcement violence. The report of Ming Hui on October 17th.(b) According to the information received, on the evening of 16 September, some 89 plainclothes men entered the 60-year-old Falun Gong practitioner ' s gold forest home in Farhae Town, Newmin city; Reports indicate that they belonged to the local public security and security services and the Farha cow police station, without showing any legal search, summons documents and then taking the gold forest to a house near the police station.

The family complained that the gold forest was being handcuffed back, trampled on its back, kicked on its chest, hit its head and restricted to toilet, and that it was subsequently injured in its wrists, pain in its chest and dizziness. The family requested an assessment of the injuries and the police officers involved were held accountable. Physical injury does not lose its seriousness because of the use of the word “law enforcement” by public security organs; If law enforcement uses violence after exercising control over personal liberty, State power becomes a punishment that private individuals cannot resist.

The Goldwood case occurred in Liaoning and is not directly linked to the Yunnan case. However, repeated surveillance, door-to-door removal, isolation from family members and complaints of beatings or ill-treatment in several records indicate that believers may be under similar pressure in different places. The difference is that some people are alive and tell their families what happened, and others are only one death report from the prison.

From Office 610 to the Political Law Commission: Why persecution continues to this day

Operation Kunming in April involved security personnel and police stations in several jurisdictions, with a concentrated time and long-term mapping and monitoring prior to the operation. This is not the case of individual civilian police who occasionally meet a suspect on the street. The public security system has allocated manpower, organizational follow-up to the activities of one group of people and has established controls in different regions, which indicate that religious persecution has been incorporated into the daily management of political security.

In 1999, the Communist Party began a nationwide crackdown on Falun Gong and established specialized organizations such as the “610 Office” named after its founding date. British government released November 2025, updated 2026UK Government Country InformationThe study explicitly cites the fact that the reform of the party and State institutions in 2018 transferred the functions of the former leadership group and the “610 Office” to the Central Political and Law Commission of the Communist Party and the Ministry of Public Security, which were absorbed by other bodies. This institutional evolution is an important context for understanding the behaviour of local State and political security today.

The local civilian police are responsible for carrying out the search, organizing the operations of the public security leadership and establishing the overall political security direction of the central political system. There are boundaries to the specific legal responsibilities that are assumed at different levels, but this persistent political machine has a common goal: to view Falun Gong believers as a group to be regulated. The harm to individual rights, which began at the grass-roots level, was perpetuated in institutional arrangements.

How did the list of persons under surveillance come into being, why did the police move across the jurisdiction and why did the elderly be held in detention even for the families of unretarded persons after they were taken away? The organizational model behind the Kunming operation reveals a power structure in the CCP system: it determines who is the focus, it mobilizes multiple sectors into private life, and it places affected ordinary families in a vulnerable position of information and procedures.

Persecution in Xi Jinping: High degree of centralization cannot be limited to power without consequences

The Falun Gong crackdown, which began in 1999 in China, has been going on for 27 years. The period saw the change of top leaders and the re-organization of institutions, the central arrest of Kunming in 2002, the death of Red River County prison and the ongoing violence charges against Liaoning. The forced control of believers was not ended by administrative reorganization after the old special office was incorporated into the new system of political law.

Xi has long emphasized the absolute leadership of the party in the political and legal sphere. (b) The specific arrest and beating of the local public security officials by specific agents and commanders; The continued pressure on Falun Gong is a political policy, and it is the highest leadership of the Communist Party that can decide whether to continue the policy. Since the party has concentrated its organizational power at a high level, it cannot interpret the consequences of the system as a question of law enforcement at the grass-roots level when an individual is injured.

The family was controlled by the Zhao Jianhua and Yang Jinhui, who were detained by the railway police on their way home by car, and the Golden Forest, who complained of being beaten in a house near the police station. These experiences occurred in the most common life scene. When a person ' s faith is defined as a political security issue, the police can turn their daily lives into a scene of a series of coercive measures.

Faith can raise their cards in Washington, but in China they may not be able to wait for their loved ones to come home.

On 23 July 2026,Voice of America reports live on the Washington Anti-Prosecution rally.Thousands of Falun Gong practitioners publicly commemorated the twenty-seventh anniversary of the beginning of repression by the Chinese authorities. Participants can raise their cards, interview them and demand accountability. On the other hand, in China, Yang Jinhui ' s family sought full surveillance before his relative died, the Golden Forest family sought a medical certificate, and the publishers of the Internet video on Yunnan did not provide complete evidence of the identity and whereabouts of the injured.

Freedom of religion is never only allowed to take part in authorized activities, but it is for each individual to decide what to believe and not to be included in the public security watch list. Sixty-year-old Gao-young, seventy-two-year-old Zhao Jianhua, sixty-five-year-old Yang Jin-hui and sixty-year-old Gold Forest have their own lives and families. In these cases, the first deprivation of persecution is this ordinary life.

The video from Yunnan Network does not give a clear identity, but the three-day list of actions by Kunming, the thirty-four days of detention of Zhao Jianhua ' s wife, the death of Yang Jinhui in custody and the complaint of the family of the Golden Forest leave a specific name, date and place. Treating differences of faith as a threat to political security and the continued treatment of believers by the police and the prison is the real harm to civil liberties caused by the ruling dictatorship of the Communist Party. It is not policy documents that bear the cost, but every person taken away and family waiting outside the door.
